Help for creating colored diff

Hello,
i try to make an colored diff output with cvs2html.
I use an command
cvs2html -r1.1:1.5 /datendir/testdatendir/datenfile.txt -P /daten1 -o
/test/test.htm
daten1 is the Repository which i have set with cvs -d /daten1 init
and /datendir/testdatendir/datenfile.txt is my working directory.
I become an ERROR: The file ./CVS/ROOT ...
 What is to do for an output, what is wrong?
Any help and tip is welcome
